Kara Snyder has been performing since she began her theatre career as an orphan in the musical Annie with Pocono Lively Arts. Graduating from Notre Dame High School in East Stroudsburg and the Double Degree program at The Johns Hopkins University and Peabody Conservatory, Kara earned a Bachelor of Arts in French and a Bachelor of Music in Voice. From there she moved to New York City to pursue a career in opera, achieving roles in various companies through the 2000’s.
Locally, Kara has performed at The Shawnee Playhouse debuting in the 2010 production of It’s a Wonderful Life (Mary Bailey) and was seen in Nunsense II (Mother Superior), Sisters of Swing (LaVerne Andrews), Annie (Grace Farrell) and Cats (Grizabella). At Theatrical Gems Kara has performed various roles in numerous shows including A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Domina), Seussical (Sour Kangaroo) and Sweeney Todd (Mrs. Lovett) where she won the Nepta Award for Best Actress in a Musical.
